Doxie Picnic in the Park

Today was the summer picnic for the San Diego Doxie group. There was over a hundred doxies in the park. Myer and James were obviously the best-looking wieners in the bunch. We try to get out and enjoy the nice summer weather…it may seem as if we don’t have seasons here, but we do. Summer: 75-80, Fall: 72-77, Winter: 65-73 Spring: 70-75. Sometimes we even get fog. As you can clearly see, we do have weather and seasons here in San Diego.

Dolphins playing in the surf

Fishes

They are probably not playing as much as looking for breakfast.  Either way it is cool to see every morning.  The fact that we live in a very beautiful part of the country is not lost on us.  I still feel like we are on vacation.  Today, despite the low waves, I really wished I had a wet suit and surf board.  I was just waiting to see one of those guys leap from their board on to one of the dolphins and take her for a ride.  I would never do that of course, but you must imagine it would be tempting.

Google Traffic: Coming soon to Myers Maps?

Could this new feature on google maps be coming soon to Myer’s maps?  Hard to know.  I am going to have to see if it is available through google API, and if i am smart enough to get it to work on this site.  In the mean time, just point your browser to Google Maps and click on the traffic link.  It is pretty cool, although it does not give you any information for the slow zones.  Some people, who shall remain anonymous Christy, think that google maps is not very practical.  To that I say, check out the traffic running next to your house 5 years ago.  (See said person’s comments to my weather post)

Weather in San Diego

We do have weather here in San Diego. I even checked to see if the rain had started and discovered my new favorite website: http://weather.com I had been to this site before, but they added a new interactive radar feature. Call me a nerd, but it is really cool. Check it out.

Dog Beach

We took Myer to the dog beach…which she really does not enjoy.  She is not a big fan of the water, the sand, or being around all the other dogs.  Regardless, we are determined to make her like it.  I think we had a break-through this time however.  She actually played in the water (see picture), she tolerated the other dogs…she even tried to get a pit bull to chase her.  Amanda almost had a heart attack.  Myer really started to enjoy herself though, once she realized she could explore and sniff without being on a leash.  We are slowly getting her to act like a dog.  For those of you who have not been to visit or have not been to the dog beach.  Del Mar has a great beach for the dogs to run and play in the surf.  We took advantage of the nice 80 degree weather, and headed for the coast.  Myer even enjoyed riding in the Jeep with the top down.  It was a great day.

New Design

I have changed the design, yet again.  I am going to try to write more to the blog now that things have settled down.  I hope you like the new look and please let me know if there are things you miss or would like to see on the blog.  We went to the dog beach this weekend and Myer had a blast.  I think it was the first time she actually did not think we were trying to torture her.  Look for pictures soon.
